The first movie of N.T.Rama Rao ( NTR) was the Telugu film Mana Desam ( meaning Our country).

This social film, set against the bakdrop of the Indian freedom struggle, was directed by L.V.Prasad and produced by actress Krishnaveni,  was released on November 24th, 1949.

NTR did a walk-on role as a policeman in that movie.
