R.D. Burman ( Rahul Dev Burman ) was born in Kolkatta (Calcutta ) on June 27th, 1939, in Calcutta is one of the greatest Music Directors of Bollywood.

R.D. Burman first released film as a music director was Mehmood's "Chote Nawaab" which was released in 1961.

His professional career began in 1958 when he started assisting his father S.D.Burman.



RD Burman composed his first song at the age of nine for the film Fantoosh (1956).
